We want to know his view on the case."The law minister said he would meet Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General Syed Iftekhar Uddin to clarify legal issues related to the executions."The full copy [of the review verdict] was sent to the jail authorities before the execution of Kamaruzzaman. We will discuss whether the process will be similar in these cases. We'll wait until then," Huq said.Speaking about the mode of the execution, the law minister said the International Crimes Tribunal has rules allowing the adoption of any method considered appropriate."The Code of Criminal Procedures says when a person is tried under this law and is given capital punishment, he or she will have to hang until death. Nothing like that is stated here (in ICT law). It depends on how we want it." he said.Citing the options to appeal and seek a review of the sentences issued by the ICT, the law minister said the trial was 'transparent'."Such a transparent process to try war crimes or crimes against humanity has never been held before. We have reached a verdict after giving the convicts the scope to defend themselves," he said."We have obeyed the laws and ensured rights. Never before in the world has there been such transparency in war crimes trials.”He also said the authorities were set to strictly follow legal formalities.
